Yo Eleven! – the breakfast klub Rolls into its 11th Year!!

Kustomers Win Big with Month-Long Anniversary Activities and Events!!

HOUSTON, Oct. 1, 2012 – Against the odds, the breakfast klub continues to “beat the house” by celebrating 11 successful years serving legendary Wings & Waffles and Katfish & Grits in Houston’s Mid Town.

According to a study by Cornell University and Michigan State University, 70 percent of all restaurants fail within the first 10 years. When you add a struggling economy, the high cost of food and rising costs of doing business, these figures are likely much higher, so the breakfast klub is counting its blessings and celebrating all month long!

“We’ve never taken our success for granted,” says Marcus Davis, chief steward of the breakfast klub. “Our entire operation is based on the value of good food and the importance of a great kustomer experience. It’s been our recipe for success for 11 years, so we’re sticking to it!”

The rally cry for the breakfast klub’s 11th anniversary is “Yo Eleven!” Yo (11) is one of the most wagered casino bets in the dice game Craps. It’s also the most risky with 17:1 odds stacked against it.

So in the spirit of gratitude and going for it, the breakfast klub is coming to the table all month long with lots of fun events and activities to keep kustomers in the winners’ circle!

The festivities kick off on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 10 a.m. with the Second Annual Grits Eating Championship of the World. Last year’s champion, Justin Daniels, who ate 3.2 pounds of grits in five minutes will be there to defend his title, and celebrity judges will be on hand to officiate. Kustomers are encouraged to register and receive official kontest rules at
the breakfast klub in advance. The grand prize winner will receive 11, $25 gift cards, a trophy and gritty bragging rights!

the breakfast klub’s Kids First Saturday, held the first Saturday of each month, will have extra special activities in honor of the anniversary outside the restaurant, including moonwalks, face painting, crafts, giveaways, prizes and entertainment geared specifically toward kids and families.

On Saturday, Oct. 13, the breakfast klub will host a high-rolling casino-style, fundraising party called “Yo Eleven! Kasino Night at the breakfast klub,” from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. benefitting Susan’s Rally, a non-profit organization that supports families undergoing cancer treatment in Houston. (www.susansrally.org) The cost is $100 per couple; $75 for individual tickets. Festivities will include casino games, live auction and a chance to win $11,000 at a “Waffle” dice roll for a $25 donation to Susan’s Rally. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the breakfast klub.

Kustomer Appreciation Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20, and it’s an opportunity for the breakfast klub to thank its wonderful kustomers for 11 years of patronage and support. The day will be loaded with fun and great giveaways from
the breakfast klub and its long-time kommunity partners.

On Thursday, Oct. 25, it’s Throw Back Thursday, where kustomers and employees of the breakfast klub get to celebrate old-school flashing back to “Flashlight” and “Purple Rain” with the best of the soulful 60′s, funky 70′s, the rockin 80′s, and hip-hoppin 90′s music and costumes.

And during the month kustomers will get a chance to rack up $100 gift certificates to the breakfast klub in afternoon drive on media partner, KJMQ 102.1 FM during the breakfast klub’s 11 Days of Give-Aways starting Monday, October 1st.
