The Big Chill – Houston Fresh Air Cargo IAH Debuts


The Houston Airport System (HAS) announces the grand opening of the Houston Fresh Air Cargo IAH center on Friday, December 11, 2009 at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The new 61,000 square foot facility, will process time and temperature sensitive items such as produce, flowers, and fish, thereby providing Faster and Fresher products throughout Texas, as far west as Colorado, north to Chicago and east to Louisiana. Media wishing to attend should call the Houston Airport System Media Hotline at 281-233-1234 for clearance.

WHY:
The Houston Fresh Air Cargo IAH center represents the dawn of a new market for the Houston Airport System, Houston metropolitan area and the region. The center is expected to create jobs and generate more than $10 million in revenue for the region during the first year alone, with the potential for additional international trade estimated at $7.6 billion.
