In the wake of the Gulf Coast disasters and the economic recession, Port Arthur Small Business Summit 2009 hopes to spur economic development in the Golden Triangle. Orange, Jefferson and Harding Counties can benefit from the summit that will be held in Port Arthur October 28, 2009 at the Robert A. Bob Bowers Civic Center from 7:30am-4pm.

This event is being hosted by the Office of the Governor Economic Development and Tourism Small Business Development, Texas Workforce Commission, City of Port Arthur, University Houston Small Business Development Center Network, Golden Triangle Empowerment Center, and many regional organizations that cater to economic and business development. The goal is to help businesses in the region that have experienced significant financial challenges maintaining services and to address new opportunities that are available to them.
