PETROCHEMICAL & ENERGY INDUSTRY PROCUREMENT CONNECTIONS FORUM – Omni Houston Galleria Hotel – Four Riverway – Houston, TX 77056 – March 7-8, 2011

The Fourth Petrochemical and Energy Industry Procurement Connections Forum sponsored by BP, Chevron, CITGO, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Marathon Oil Corporation and Shell along with prime contractors GE Energy, Halliburton and Turner Industries will be held in Houston, Texas March 7-8, 2011. This matchmaking model has proven successful in the past and is designed to accelerate connecting industry buyers, category managers and other corporate decision makers to minority and women-owned firms and small businesses in key categories through a specialized identification and matching process. In a tough economy and with the continuing need for M/WBEs and small businesses to develop relationships with corporate decision-makers, this Forum offers strong business value for all parties and includes both an education and networking component in addition to a full day of matchmaking with corporate buyers. Over 150 pre-qualified suppliers from throughout the United States have registered to attend. The 2010 Forum resulted in over 380 face-to-face meetings between buyers and suppliers.

Monday’s supplier workshop topics include:
o Your Value Proposition: Is it a Deal Maker or a Deal Breaker?
o e-Procurement: Responding with Confidence to Electronic RFPs
o Risk Management: Understanding Your Contractual Liabilities and Safety Requirements for Major Projects
o Primed for Success: How M/WBE Prime Contractors Meet the Demands of Major Projects

Participation is limited to pre-qualified suppliers with demonstrated success in business and who can deliver products and services in key areas vital to the Petrochemical, Oil and Gas industries. The sponsoring companies are also reached out to minority-owned, women-owned and small disadvantaged businesses from throughout the United States that have experienced the economic downturn in other industries and have the capability and capacity to provide goods and services to this new market.

Media outlets are invited to attend “The Art of Networking Reception” on Monday, March 7 from 4:30 p.m. – 6: 30 p.m. and the luncheon on Tuesday from 12:15 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Both events are at the Omni Hotel Houston located at Four Riverway – Houston, TX 77056 – 713-871-8181.
