Tax Assessor-Collector Mike Sullivan announced that on Veterans Day, November 11, 2013, the Tax Office will begin offering customized services for military personnel and their families.
“Simple tasks such as paying property taxes and getting an automobile registration sticker are much more difficult to do if you’re half-way around the world or on base or in another state,” said Mr. Sullivan. “We want to make it easier for those who serve or have served our country, especially those who are deployed at a moment’s notice and need to take care of business very quickly. I’m proud to offer the Military Help Desk to consolidate our services into an easy format”
With Thanksgiving and winter holidays around the corner, military personnel and their families are welcomed to explore the new site and take advantage of this invaluable service.
The Military Help Desk will address all Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office services: property tax, automobile services and voter registration. It will also include a new optimized webpage and a Veteran-friendly help desk at the downtown office.
In addition, the Military Help Desk will be led by Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office Military Liaison and U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Marty Mistretta. “Marty is an incredible asset to my office,” said Mr. Sullivan. “As an Active Reserve member, she has first-hand experience and knowledge involving these challenges. I’m proud to have her on staff and leading this initiative.”
The Military Help Desk will be available to Active Duty, Guard and Reserve Members, Disabled Veterans, Prior Service and their families. If any military personnel or family members have questions regarding the help desk, they should visit http://www.hctax.net and click on the Military Help Desk link to explore what services are available. In addition, they can also live chat with the Military Help Desk on the webpage or call (713) 274-HERO (4376). The webpage and help desk will launch on Veterans Day, November 11, 2013.
