Mayor Parker, Wells Fargo, Avenue CDC to Hold News Conference to Announce ‘NeighborhoodLIFT’ Homebuyer Event and Home Preservation Workshop

What:
News conference to highlight Wells Fargo’s NeighborhoodLIFTSM program — a two day event that will take place May 11-12 at the George R. Brown Convention Center and provide prospective homebuyers with the opportunity to see if they qualify for $15,000 in down payment assistance and/or home and renovation financing grants. Prospective home buyers attending NeighborhoodLIFTSM will also be able to take advantage of home buyer education sessions and tours of selected residential properties that are available for sale in the city of Houston.

This program, which is a first for the banking industry, will be held in collaboration with the City of Houston and NeighborWorks® America’s local charter member Avenue CDC. Prospective homebuyers can register to attend the event at www.neighborhoodlift.com.

Wells Fargo’s ‘Home Preservation Workshop,’ a signature city-by-city effort focused on helping homeowners avoid foreclosure, will return to Houston for a second time; 5,000 Houston-area mortgage customers invited to Home Preservation Workshop set for May 17 at the Reliant Center.

4307 Darter, Houston, TX, 77009 is in the Avenue Place neighborhood. This neighborhood includes only seven homes now so it may not appear on your GPS. From downtown, you can take I-45 N. Exit 50-B toward Cavalcade St. Take a Right on Cavalcade and turn Right on Cetti St. Then turn left on Weiss and right on Darter. The house where the press conference is being hosted is the yellow one on the right.

Or, you can enter 4004 Irvington, which is an apartment complex Avenue CDC built, into your GPS or Mapquest site. After the apartment complex at 4004 Irvington, take a Right and the neighborhood (Avenue Place) is on the Right. The house where the press conference is being hosted is the yellow one on the Right.
