Keller Williams Realty volunteers will refurbish the facilities at the City’s Metropolitan Multi-Service Center, which serves persons with disabilities.
Keller Williams Realty’s 4th Annual RED Day is a calling to its associates to “Renew, Energize and Donate.” In the spirit of public service, Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan Associates will refurbish the facilities at the City’s Metropolitan Multi-Service Center (MMSC), located at 1475 West Gray Street, which serves persons with disabilities. Keller Williams will provide approximately 300 volunteers and furnish the supplies and materials needed for the project. The day’s work will include the development of a Life Skills Kitchen and Laundry Training Center, the development of art display spaces, painting and repairs in the service center public areas and the completion of sensory gardens.
The Metropolitan Multi-Service Center is managed by the Houston Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD). The center houses HPARD’s Adaptive Recreation Division and the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD), a division of the Department of Neighborhoods. The center offers a myriad of services and amenities for persons with disabilities, including an accessible library, exercise equipment, an aquatics program and therapeutic pool, recreational activities and social fellowship events. MOPD serves as the City’s primary advocate for the rights and needs of persons with disabilities.
