MAYOR PARKER APPOINTS BILLY BRISCOE TO GCCSA

Briscoe to Serve on Board of Directors of the Gulf Coast Community Services Association

Billy Briscoe, candidate for Harris County Treasurer, was recently appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of the Gulf Coast Community Services Association. The GCCSA is a private, nonprofit organization that has served the Houston area for over forty-five years through assistance to low-income families. The Mayor’s Office appoints a representative to serve on the Board, which oversees the organization’s educational, social and economic efforts.

Dr. Jonita Wallace Reynolds, Chief Executive Director of GCCSA, praised Mayor Parker’s appointment, noting that “Mr. Briscoe will be a welcomed addition to the Board. His business experience and legal expertise is precisely the blend of skill-sets needed as we move forward in GCCSA’s 46th year of providing service to our community. I know that he will be a valued asset in helping to carry out the organization’s mission.”

Mayor Annise Parker recognized Briscoe’s desire to serve his community, announcing her appointment through the following statement, “I am pleased to appoint Billy Briscoe as my representative to the Gulf Coast Community Services Associations (GCCSA) Board. I am confident that Billy will be an active contributing member to the Board and I appreciate his willingness to serve.”

Briscoe is both honored and humbled to be the newest addition to the GCCSA Board of Directors, which he said “is comprised of dedicated, talented Houstonians that I admire and look forward to working with in order to continue and expand the successes of the organization’s outreach.”

Billy Briscoe is a native Houstonian. A local businessman and lawyer, Briscoe received a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan, a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center, and a BA from Hampton University, and Billy serves on the boards of American Red Cross – Southeast Branch, Making It Better, Inc., Harris County Improvement District 12 and Have Haven, Inc.
