Improving minority health in Houston will be the focus of a news conference that will feature Houston Mayor Bill White and other health community supporters.
Mayor White will announce plans for the second annual Houston Juneteenth Multicultural Health Festival presented by UnitedHealth Group. The festival will celebrate the Juneteenth holiday by promoting a healthier lifestyle.
Carl Kidd, UnitedHealth Group will provide critical statistics related to minority health and wellness, discuss some of the health care challenges facing minorities and highlight what you can expect from the event.
The news conference will also feature event coordinator Francis Page, Jr. He will provide a detailed schedule of all events associated with the Houston Juneteenth Multicultural Festival and former State Representative Al Edwards to discuss the importance of Juneteenth.
This year’s Houston Juneteenth Multicultural Health Festival will be June 21 at Discovery Green Park from Noon – 6pm, Parade beginning at 9 am and Health Conference from 10am – 3pm.
