LAURIE ROBINSON CONTINUES TO GARNER SUPPORT FOR BID FOR CITY COUNCIL #4 POSITION

Laurie Robinson, candidate for City Council At-Large Position #4 received overwhelming additional support last week from several key organizations including: the Houston Apartment Association (HAA), Club, Houston Realty Business Coalition (HBRC), Associated Builders & Contractors PAC (ABC), Greater Houston Restaurant Association, Greater Houston Builders Assoc.-HOME PAC, American Postal Workers, Harris County Afro American Sheriff Deputy League and Democracy for Houston.

Laurie Robinson, a fiscally responsible business leader, job creator and consensus builder, has dedicated her career to helping others. Starting in 2005, Laurie Robinson worked as Project Director with the City of Houston to make sure that 40,000 families and seniors affected by both Hurricanes Katrina and Rita received rental assistance for emergency housing. As a business leader, Laurie Robinson has created over 200 jobs in the local area and community while assisting minority and women-owned small businesses to increase their revenues by over $86 million. Laurie continues to believe in fiscal responsibility by assisting the City with audits and assessments to locate wasted taxpayer dollars.

“I am grateful for the broad-based support that we are receiving for our campaign.  It indicates that we are on the right track in getting our message out to the voters about my commitment to “serve the community” and improve the quality of life. We cannot effectively accomplish things by living solo on an island or working in a vacuum. I have a track record of rolling up my sleeves and getting things done and I will do the same for the citizens of Houston, it’s who I am! Together we can make it happen.” Robinson concluded.

Experience definitely matters on city council and Laurie Robinson will be able to “hit the ground running on the first day”.
