Larry Kellner, president of Emerald Creek Group and former chairman and CEO of Continental Airlines Inc., will be officially introduced as the 2011 chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership at the organization’s Annual Meeting. In addition to sharing his vision for the upcoming year, Kellner will also present GHP’s legislative priorities for the 82nd Legislature.
“This year is critical to our region for many reasons. First and foremost our state legislature is gathering in Austin for its biannual session and they will have to make some very difficult decisions regarding our state budget,” Kellner said. “We need to focus our efforts and push for good public policy if we are to protect state funding for our most precious initiatives and resources.”
Recognized as the greater Houston region’s first business meeting of the year, the event is expected to draw more than 1,200 business professionals and community leaders from across the 10-county area.
