The Houston Airport System is hosting a Job Fair today in conjunction with the Greater Houston Partnership, Lone Star College and Workforce Solutions near George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Lone Star College North Harris Campus in the Student Services Building Conference Center at 2700 W. W. Thome Drive, Houston 77073. As of 11 a.m., the event attracted more than 200 attendees.
“The Houston Airport System is an economic engine in the region with a $27.5 billion annual impact to the Greater Houston economy,” said Mario C. Diaz, Houston Airport System Director. “We are pleased to support the growth of jobs and are excited to partner with Workforce Solutions and Lone Star College to help Houstonians find the right opportunities.”
More than 30 employers will be hiring in all industries for entry-level positions in the region surrounding the Intercontinental area. Interested applicants for these positions need to be ready to show a form of identification as they apply for openings. Applicants are advised to bring resumes and dress professionally.
Among the job openings now available in the area around the airport include:
Cashiers, baggage handlers, aircraft washers, cabin cleaners, sales associates, catering services, guest service agent, cooks, wait staff, dishwashers, telemarketers representatives, security officers, janitorial, business development, vehicle handlers, retail merchandiser, team leads (sales), greeters, room attendants, housekeeping, general cleaners, floor personnel, stewards, utilities, day porters, mail carriers, clerks, mail handlers, vehicle maintenance, loss and prevention, shift supervisors, assistant managers (retail) and sales consultants.
