Houston Public Library presents a day of Norwegian entertainment

Stavanger Culture School students to perform Saturday, March 24th

WHAT:
Join Houston Public Library for a variety of entertaining performances by high school performing arts students visiting Houston from the Stavanger Culture School in Stavanger, Norway.

The Houston/Galveston Stavanger Sister City Society has sponsored this student exchange every two years since 1980, alternating between Houston/Galveston students visiting Stavanger and vice versa.

This event is open to all ages. All performances are free and open to the public.

SCHEDULED PERFORMANCES:

Urban Culture Graffiti – Aerosol Artists, featuring two graffiti artists, will complete works on two 5 x 9 panels. (Starting at approximately 2 PM)
Rock Band – WAYRA, a group from Stavanger, plays 70’s hard rock music inspired by everything from Thin Lizzy and Grand Funk Railroad to Free and Bad Company.
Urban Culture Rappers – Four Norwegian rappers
String Quartet – Four performers including viola, cello, and two violins.
Classical Guitar Trio
Urban Culture Jugglers
