“Houston Iftar”-Annual Ramadan Dinner with Keynote Address by Mayor Annise Parker

Around two thousand people are expected to attend the Grand Houston Iftar-Annual Iftar Ramadan dinner with Mayor Annise Parker on July 27th, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at Bayou City Event Center. Lt. Governor Dewhurst will be a guest of honor & Greet the Muslim community on celebration of Ramadan and Mayor Houston will deliver Keynote Address.

At this historical  Iftar Dinner. Javaid Anwar, President  & CEO, Midland Energy, will introduce the Mayor Houston. Top restaurants of Muslim  community including Tempura restaurant, D.N.R. Turkish restaurant and Great Greek Grill will cater the food. Event Chairman Saeed Sheikh will thank the community members who registered themselves for the “Houston Iftar” Annual Ramadan Dinner 2013 with Mayor Annise Parker. We have received a large number of RSVPs from the community and have a lot of people on the wait list now, he said and urged the peoples if their plans have changed and are no longer able to attend the event please email info@houstoniftar.org. Please inform ahead of time if you are no longer attending so we can move people up on the wait list so that they are able to come. Members of Congress and other civic and political leaders are expected to participate in this dinner, whereas this Houston Iftar is collaborated by more than 30 community organizations.

In this Annually hosted Iftar dinner, thousands of people would participate with their families. It’s worth to mention here that more than fifteen hundred people registered themselves online to confirm their participation in the Houston Iftar in just few weeks. Due to overwhelming response from Muslim community, the organizing committee of the Houston Iftar  strives hard to accommodate five hundred more people in the event. The program will start at 6:30 pm sharp with reciting of Quran and event coordinator Saeed Sheikh will deliver the welcome address. Sheikh Mohammad Shahid of Al Noor Masjid will lead the prayer in the event.
