Houston Dynamo to hold open tryout September 21 at Houston Amateur Sports Park

First stage of Dynamo Trials open to all aspiring soccer players

The Houston Dynamo announced today details of an open tryout for aspiring soccer players. Dynamo Trials 2013 will begin on Saturday, September 21 at Houston Amateur Sports Park and is open to soccer players 18 years of age and older.

This is the eighth consecutive year in which the tryouts have been held. More than 200 soccer players from around the world participated in last year’s edition of Dynamo Trials, competing for a spot on the Dynamo first team.

The tryout is comprised of a fitness test, skills competition and a game against the Dynamo Academy U-18 team, presented by Statoil. Participants who pass the fitness test, held on September 21, will be invited back the following day for the skills competition. From there, a select group of players will be invited to compete against the Dynamo Academy. Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear and his coaching staff will be on hand to evaluate that match.

Registration for Dynamo Trials is $100 and includes a Dynamo Trials T-shirt and two tickets to the Dynamo vs. Chivas USA match on September 21. Partial proceeds from Dynamo Trials 2013 will benefit Dynamo Charities in support of the Dynamo’s youth development system.

To register online, visit www.HoustonDynamo.com/DynamoTrials.

Dynamo Trials sponsors include: Methodist Center for Sports Medicine, Halliburton Charitable Foundation, Crowne Plaza Downtown, Discount Tire and Direct Energy.
