HOUSTON’S PRAYER FOR TUCSON AND THE NATION

‘A Service of Renewal’

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) will host Houston’s Prayer for Tucson and the Nation at 1 p.m. CT Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church, 118 West Gray St., Houston, Texas 77019.

“The President of the United States called on us by saying, ‘We can be better,’ please join us at Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday,” commented Congresswoman Jackson Lee. “This service of renewal will give Houstonians an opportunity to express their concern by song and words and to give encouragement to the people of Tucson and the people of this nation. Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, the wife of Captain Mark Kelly, has a wonderful relationship with Houston and on Sunday we will show our combined concern for her, those who lost their lives, her staff and the wounded. That’s what we do as Americans.”
