HOUSTON (January 14, 2013) – Houston Community College Southwest presents a passionate night of tango with their cultural voyage series to Argentina. This year’s voyage will set sail Saturday, February, 16 at 7 p.m., 5601 West Loop South, Houston, 77081 in the HCC West Loop Campus Auditorium.
“Our cultural voyages are designed for our students who are not able to travel the world. We want to bring other parts of the world right here to our campuses where one can experience a different country at home,” says Dr. Fena Garza, HCC Southwest president. “The vision is for students to see, hear, taste and experience a new culture.”
The mesmerizing evening of tango includes performances by pianist Rene Casarsa and the Houston Tango Quartet featuring vocalist Andrea Berri and dancing by Mauro Marcone and Elizabeth Wingfield. In order to bring the full Argentinian experience to the HCC campus, Casa Argentina de Houston and the Consulate General of Argentina are partners in the event.
Seating is limited and special ticket prices are available for students and couples online at southwest.hccs.edu or by phone at 713.718.7767. Admission to the Argentinian cultural experience also includes music, food and fun. For more information about HCC Southwest’s event, visit southwest.hccs.edu.
