Collaboration offers area students seamless education in Maritime and Logistics fields
Houston area residents interested in the Maritime and Logistics fields will have greater education and training opportunities through a partnership between Houston Community College (HCC) and Texas Southern University (TSU). HCC and TSU formalized their agreement August 19. The collaboration will provide students with educational opportunities and training in the Maritime/Logistics industry. HCC students will now have the ability to take Logistics and Global Supply Chain Management courses at HCC and transfer them to TSU so that they can complete a bachelor’s degree in Maritime/Logistics.
The Transportation Management AAS degree at HCC Southeast can articulate to a TSU Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Maritime Transportation Management and Security, which empowers students to assume leadership roles. The program prepares students for careers in fields such as maritime transport and logistics, maritime infrastructure engineering and management, port management operations, security of port facilities and environmental protection.
