HCC ranks among the top 10 in conferring associate degrees to minority students

HOUSTON (May 15, 2012) – Houston Community College ranks in the Top 10 for conferring the most degrees to minorities in 2012. Each year Diverse: Issues In Higher Education, a national higher education journal, singles out the Top 100 Degree Producers by rankings. This year, HCC made the Top 10 list in four categories.

Across all disciplines, HCC is eighth conferring associate degrees to Asian-Americans, ninth in associate degrees awarded to African Americans and 10th in conferring associate degrees to Hispanics. Over all, HCC ranks eighth in awarding associate degrees to minority students.

According to Diverse, the Top 10 Degree Producers edition is the only national analysis of degrees awarded to students of color.
