HCC Central hosts poetry reading focus social change

HCC Central hosts local poetry reading as part of 100 Thousand Poets for Change – a worldwide effort to focus on social change through poetry – this Saturday at the college’s Fine Arts Center.

A group of professors of English and poets at Houston Community College Central presents a poetry reading 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at HCC Central in support of a worldwide day of poetry called 100 Thousand Poets For Change.

The reading will take place in room 115 of the Fine Arts Center (FAC Bldg.), 3517 Austin at Holman. Free parking is available in the garage adjacent to the Fine Arts Center.

The Johnnie Harris Writers at HCC Central are participating in 100 Thousand Poets for Change to celebrate poetry and to promote social, environmental and political change around the world. The reading at HCC Central is being held in concert with poetry readings in 450 cities in more than 100 countries worldwide.
