Harris County Judge Ed Emmett highlighted county objectives and top initiatives in delivering his 2008 State of the County Address hosted by the Greater Houston Partnership.
Emmett’s speech focused on 2008 priorities which included raising the county’s international business profile, mobility improvement, and continued fiscal responsibility. He also looked back at 2007 accomplishments which included Commissioner Court’s passage of the county’s largest ever property tax cut.
Emmett also highlighted the county’s 16,000 employees giving praise with a video tribute.
“We must always act to assure the public that government officials and employees are good stewards of their trust,” Emmet said.
