AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has reappointed Tracye McDaniel of Houston to the Texas Advisory Board of Economic Development Stakeholders for a term to expire Sept. 1, 2013. The advisory board assists the Governor’s Division of Economic Development and Tourism by collecting and disseminating information on federal, state, local and private community economic development programs, including loans, grants and other funding sources.
McDaniel is executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Greater Houston Partnership. She is a member of the Texas Economic Development Corporation and United Way of Houston Board of Directors, and is honorary chair of the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum Founders Club. She is also past executive director of the Governor’s Division of Economic Development and Tourism, past CEO of the Texas Economic Development Corporation TexasOne Program, past president of the Texas Association of African-American Chambers of Commerce, and a past member of the United Negro College Fund Council Board. McDaniel received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
