SAN FRANCISCO – SEPTEMBER 3, 2011 – Donna Cole, Chair of the upcoming Asian Pacific American Women Leadership Summit is pleased to announce that Ginger Lew will be speaking on the Financial Abundance Panel on Saturday, September 24 at 9:30 a.m. Ginger Lew is the Senior Counselor to the White House National Economic Council and the SBA Administrator. She provides advice on small business, innovation and entrepreneurship policies.
She served as the Co-Chair of the White House Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group and Chair of the White House Regional Innovation Cluster Group.Prior to joining the Obama Administration, Ms. Lew had an extensive career in private and public sectors. Ms. Lew was the CEO of a venture capital fund, and also served as Chairman of a European based investment fund. She received her business and financial training while working with Ernst and Young and as an entrepreneur with a San Francisco alternative energy start-up.
Her public service includes White House appointments as the General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Commerce, and Deputy Administrator and Chief Operating Officer of the U.S. Small Business Administration under the Clinton Administration. Ms. Lew was unanimously confirmed by the Senate for both positions. Ms. Lew also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia with Richard Holbrooke. Ms. Lew has been active in numerous not for profit organizations including the Yosemite National Institute, the Meyer Foundation, the Wolf Trap Foundation and the National Geographic Foundation.
She also has served on numerous corporate and business advisory boards including ATS Corporation and the NASDAQ Listing Council.The Center for Asian Pacific American Women is a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to the enhancement and enrichment of leadership skills for AA/PI women through education, networking and mentoring.
