Derek Gillard is the new director of Choice Partners, a purchasing cooperative operated by Harris County Department of Education. Gillard is the former assistant director of the cooperative and has 15 years of purchasing experience, with six years of expertise in cooperative purchasing.
The resident of League City, Texas, is a graduate of the University of North Texas and is certified as a Registered Texas School Business Administrator. He managed the Harris County Department of Education Purchasing Cooperative before it was merged with two other HCDE cooperatives and renamed Choice Partners.
Choice Partners is a national cooperative which offers quality, legal procurement and contract solutions to meet government purchasing requirements. It completes the legal, competitively bid government procurement process so that clients can access contracts immediately to save both time and money on bidding and purchasing processes.
Products and services include facilities planning and contracts for remediation, renovation and remodeling. Supplies contracts include facilities, furnishing, janitorial, office and school supplies. Service contracts range from drug testing and fleet fuel monitoring to temporary help. Food contracts provide bread, dairy, grocery, produce and cleaning products. Technology products are cloud services, hardware, software, consulting and resources for electronic demands. Choice Partners energy services include energy contractors to help governmental entities manage energy costs and purchase electricity.
