ExxonMobil, Shell, HMBC and Other Major Corporations Pay Homage to Minority Business Enterprises

On Thursday, December 11 at the Hilton Americas – Houston, the Houston Minority Business Council (HMBC) ExxonMobil, Shell and other major sponsors honored Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) for their unrelenting tenacity during the good and challenging times as they continue to fuel Houston’s economy with over $10 billion in sales and create more than 50,000 jobs. HMBC also honored the major corporations and others who have made Houston a better city in large part to their support of minority business development.

The evening was short on speeches and presentations but spectacular in performances by Cirque performers whose remarkable presentations brought to life the many special qualities that MBEs possess. In between each of the five-course meal, a Cirque act demonstrated the adaptability of MBEs with an Aerial Strap performance; that MBEs have balance with a Cane Balancer act; that MBEs have agility with an Aerial Chiffon performance; that they have flexibility followed by a Contortionist act; that they have determination followed by Duo Pole Climbers; and that they have strength revealed by a Hand Balancers Duo.

The evening was elegant, festive and intriguing; and, concluded with a sincere recognition and salute to the importance of minority business development as a foundation to the success of our cities, state and nation.
