Dancing With The Houston Stars Returns With an Amazing Cast of Local Houston Influencers, Achievers & Leaders

The Urban Souls Dance Company hosts it’s 4th annual charity competition & fundraising gala celebrating dance in the Bayou City

April 22, 2014, Houston, TX—Urban Souls Dance Company, a professional dance company and non-profit social arts organization committed to bridging the gap between urban life and dance-theater, will host it’s 4th annual charity gala & fundraiser, “Dancing With The Houston Stars!”, Sunday, May 4th at The HESS Club.

The highly-competitive event inspired by the hit television show, pairs Houston’s local celebrities with a selected Urban Souls dancer for a fierce competition-round of dancing.  This year’s theme, “Urban Masquerade”, will showcase a full dance card of local Houston influencers, achievers and leaders ready to trade in their “day jobs” for a fun evening of toe-tapping and eye-brow raising performances in front of a live audience.

Hosted by 2013 DWTHS competitor, Houston orthodontist Dr. Heather Brown and Assistant Dean, Student Programs & External Affairs at Texas Southern University, LaRence Snowden, the 2014 DWTHS cast lineup is as follows:

Ayana Mack - Radio personality, multi-media socialite and DJ (97.9 The Boxx)

Chris Ferguson - Director, Price Waterhouse Cooper

Erica Lee Carter – Harris Country Board Of Education Trustee

Dr. Kevin Smith – Facial Plastic Surgeon and owner of the Smith Center

Linda Lorelle - Emmy Award winning journalist

Nakia Cooper – Senior Producer (Digital Media) KHOU.com, blogger/owner “News With Attitude”

Ricardo McDonald - Former NFL professional athlete, current Houston Texans Ambassador  and NFL “Heads Up” Ambassador

Urban Souls Artistic Director, Harrison Guy, said “We are so very excited to host our 4th annual charity gala in Houston.  The level of local participation in Dancing With The Houston Stars, from the dancers to the audience size to our marketing and media partners, has experienced tremendous growth every year.   The success of our annual fundraiser really solidifies what we as an organization stand for: promoting the importance of performing arts among the youth, training leaders in arts education in the Houston community and developing  global outreach programs that bring the Urban Souls message through dance to those who need it the most.”

“Dancing With The Houston Stars!” will take place on Sunday, May 4th at The HESS Club (5430 Westheimer Road).  Red Carpet arrivals and a VIP reception will begin at 5:00 p.m. and showtime will commence promptly at 6:00 p.m.  Tickets are $50.00 General Admission and $100 VIP, which includes the pre-gala VIP Red Carpet reception with stars, judges, and honorees.

100% of the 2014 Dancing With The Houston Stars proceeds will benefit Urban Souls Dance Company programs including educational training, arts awareness, international outreach and ongoing support for the upcoming events and shows.
