HOUSTON (May, 2012) - The Texas Black Expo Summer Celebration will launch its 9th annual event in Houston, Texas at the George R. Brown Convention Center on June 15 – 17, 2012. The Texas Black Expo, the largest African American tradeshow in the state of Texas, is now also the largest Juneteenth holiday celebration in the state, anticipating the attendance of thousands from throughout the Texas/Louisiana region who will gather for the commemoration of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. The event anticipates serving almost 20,000 attendees over the course of the three-day weekend.
The Texas Black Expo will feature loads of family fun and entertainment. One of the annual signature attractions at the Expo is the “I Am Beauty” Health and Beauty Pavilion. In this high-traffic pavilion, attendees will receive FREE hair styling, makeovers, barber cuts, and loads of FREE samples. The Texas Black Expo will be held June 15 – 17 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Friday night will kick off the event-filled weekend with an outdoor Old School Hip-Hop and R&B concert featuring the legendary George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic in concert along with ConFunkShun, and Whodini held at Discovery Green. Saturday will feature the Diva Dialogue Women’s Forum with Hollywood Sensation Wendy Raquel Robinson of BET’s The Game. Other Expo activities will include a mega health fair, HBCU college fair and youth summit, Glam Slam Hair Battle, and a dynamic Sunday gospel explosion featuring Zacardi Cortez.
