“It’s a great time for us to come together to celebrate Black History Month, not as different races and creeds, but as Americans,” mentioned Bawanda Cartwright, secretary of the Council. “I think that it is essential to know your history, you have to know where you come from to know where you are going,” stated Thinyia Maxey, BSC member. Special guests of the evening include local candidates for the Justice of the Peace-Precinct 3-Position 2, the Anointed Angels Dance Ministry, and Houston’s Spoken.
