Capital One Bank’s Community Development Banking team partnered with the Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM) this fall to offer a series of workshops called Community CAPital, a program designed to improve the operational performance of local nonprofit organizations.
The Houston participants from 20 local organizations recently graduated from the in-depth program. They received training from experts in sessions that addressed the core needs of nonprofits. Topics included: increasing knowledge of governance; strategic planning; funding opportunities and financial management.
The workshops were also held in Dallas, New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Shreveport. Many of the graduates praised the program, saying their nonprofits will be stronger and able to help more people.
“Through an integrated approach we call ‘Investing for Good,’ Capital One Bank delivers core banking services along with specialized community development, philanthropic and volunteer support to generate lasting, local community impact,” said Annella Metoyer, Houston Market President for Capital One Bank. “The Community CAPital program is a great example of how we bring Investing for Good to life in greater Houston.”
