Annise Parker – More endorsements, more momentum!

Today, the Houston Contractors Association, the preeminent organization representing civil construction companies in the greater Houston area, endorsed our campaign! Peck Boswell, the Association’s president, said:

“The Houston Contractors Association endorses Annise Parker for Mayor because of her leadership, experience and proven track record of fiscal responsibility. In this challenging economy, Annise Parker is the best choice to move Houston forward by creating jobs, protecting public safety, investing in our infrastructure, and growing our economy – without raising taxes.”

The Houston Contractors Association did not make an endorsement during the general campaign – I am honored to have these business community leaders on our team for the runoff. We’re building an incredibly diverse coalition of supporters heading toward December 12 – today’s endorsement comes on the heels of annoucnements of support from Roland Garcia, Council Member Peter Brown and the Houston Council of Engineering Companies – just this week!

In the meantime, our superstar field department is hard at work running what might be the most succcessful field organizing campaign Houston has ever seen. Here are the numbers:

In just the last 90 days, our volunteers have made more than 179,000 phone calls and knocked on over 50,000. On just the weekend before the election, our field operation knocked on 14,000 doors! Now that’s how to win a campaign when you are outspent more than two to one.

My opponent’s field operation has been driven primarily with paid “volunteers.” But time and again in campaigns it’s been proven that you cannot buy the enthusiasm and hard work of real people, dedicating their time and money to a cause they believe in.

We need your help in this effort. Sign up at AnniseParker.com/Victory or email us to learn more about opportunities to make the difference in this race.
