HOUSTON (Oct. 25, 2012) — 713News, Houston’s fastest growing source for community news, entertainment, and sports, will host a launch party for its calendar featuring the 713News Beauties on Nov. 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The Beauties are a group of talented young women reporting the latest trends and events in the Houston area. Their various works are broadcast on cable as well as Houston’s Voice.
The proceeds for the calendar will go toward the education of students of the 713News Multimedia class in the Ripley House Neighborhood Center.
Students throughout the Houston area are also welcomed to attend. In addition to covering local activities, 713News trains children of all ages on the techniques used in the media industry. Skills these students learn include camera work, editing, writing, public speaking and more. The 713News Beauties featured in the calendar are also products of this program.
713News Founder Leo Lazaro hand-picked the multicultural group of Beauties to complement the media outlet’s style of presenting Houston’s positive energy. The Beauties follow the example of veteran Anchor/Producer Cyndi Garcia. “When we showcase positive events happening, people can be uplifted,” says Garcia.
The 713News Beauties Calendar will be available for sale at the launch party as well as on Facebook. The location for the event will be Hughes Hangar at 2811 Washington Avenue, Houston, Texas 77007. The party will include complimentary appetizers and photo booth pictures for guests. To learn more about 713News, and view its streaming content, go to www.713news.com.
