Edmonds and other PHA officials, was joined by Matilda Parker, managing director of the NPA (National Port Authority) for the Port of Monrovia, Liberia. Madam Parker was in Houston at the invitation of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and was provided a briefing on Oct. 19 about PHA operations and trade with Liberia.

The delegation was given an overview of the port and its impact on the Houston economy as well as port security, environmental and trade issues.
