The Texas Black Expo is proud to be celebrating its 10th anniversary of empowering the community through its various programs and providing a quality family-friendly cultural experience through its annual Summer Celebration. Since its inception in 2004, the Black Expo has been supported by several visionary sponsors and exhibitors that have participated each and every year with the organization’s Summer Celebration, helping to make its success possible. This year, during the exclusive Texas Black Expo VIP Reception held at the Four Seasons Hotel on June 21st, will partner with the organization to honor and applaud the support and dedication of these key businesses.

Receiving the esteemed 2013 Texas Black Expo Visionary Award for ten consecutive years of Black Expo participation are the following: HUD, H-E-B, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Brashae’s Beauty Supply, Houston Community College, Ral’s Catering, Frenchy’s, Waddell & Reed, Rodrick Dow PC, and the Houston Black Real Estate Association. is well recognized for the key role that it plays in the greater Houston business community through connecting small business owners through networking events and through helping companies of all sizes market and promote their products and services to the community through its widely-distributed D-Mars publication, both in print and online.

For more than 17 years, Founder and President, Keith J. Davis Sr., also know as “MR. D-MARS,” has worked in the area of marketing and sales.  He retired in 1999 from Brown and Ferris (BFI) due to an overwhelming response from clients requesting his services as their marketing consultant.  In this position, he eventually developed his own company,  As a leader and innovator in the field, specializes in marketing and communications.

The Texas Black Expo Juneteenth Summer Celebration will be held June 21 – 23, 2013 at the George R. Brown Convention Center (Hall A). The event provides an opportunity for business owners on all levels to network and display their goods and services to a diverse audience. Further, the Texas Black Expo will offer FREE Expo admission to all guests at the Expo tradeshow and thus anticipates more than 15,000 attendees throughout the course of the weekend. Expo activities will include a “Living Strong” health and wellness pavilion, a real estate forum, a HBCU college fair and youth summit, fashion shows, a hair show, a Naturalista event, a Saturday Old School Hip-Hop and R&B Concert at Discovery Green, a dynamic Sunday gospel explosion, and MORE!
