Go Under Cover! With the 2013 John P. McGovern Foundation Summer Reading Program at the Houston Public Library

Register Now! – Program Begins June 1, 2013 thru August 1, 2013

The Houston Public Library (HPL) invites children and teens ages 0 to 18 years to register to participate in the 2013 John P. McGovern Foundation Summer Reading Program (SRP). Go Under Cover by reading favorite books and receive a free book plus additional incentives depending on the number of books read. SRP also offers many entertaining events and programs starting June 1 through August 1, 2013. Register by visiting any HPL neighborhood or Central library location or register online from your own personal computer. SRP is free and open to the public. Read or listen to books, enter book title or time read on the online reading log either from your personal computer or with the help of a librarian. Upon completion, go to your local HPL neighborhood or Central library location to pick up the incentives for reading at the 5, 10, 20 and 30 book levels.

5 books or 5 hour level: certificate, entered into daily prize drawing.
10 books or 10 hour level: one free book.
20 books or 20 hour level: additional free book, a coupon for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and a buy one adult ticket/get a child’s ticket free for the Houston Zoo.
30 books or 30 hour level: one voucher for a free ticket to a Houston Astros game (children K-12) and entered into a Grand Prize drawing for a Kindle Paperwhite, an Apple iPod Nano 16GB, or a Lego 8MP Digital Camera.

Houston Independent School District (HISD) students can enter the HISD Summer Reading Club by joining the HPL Go Under Cover Summer Reading Program. By reading ten books they are eligible to receive incentives from the HPL Summer Reading Program AND incentives from the HISD Summer Reading Club. One program, two ways to win.
