Terry Bruner Receives Congressional Proclamation

The 100 Black Men of America, Inc. Houston Metropolitan Chapter’s 6th Annual Scholarship Gala

The 100 Black Men of America, Inc. Metropolitan Houston Chapter honored Terry Bruner, Saturday, April 20, 2013 for his service in the Houston community. The Houston Chapter held their sixth Annual Scholarship Gala where Terry Bruner was one among the six men honored.

Known for his commitment to education, Terry Bruner was awarded with congressional proclamation by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and Congressman Al Green. “The opportunity to be recognized and awarded for something I love to do, in a place I call home, has given me the best feeling,” said Bruner.

Terry Bruner owns a law firm that specializes in nonprofit, community development, and social enterprise law. He advocates on behalf of social entrepreneurs and charter schools, and constantly embodies the 4 pillars 100 Black Men, Inc. strive to uphold: respect for family, spirituality, justice and integrity.

Along with being 100 Black Men honoree, Bruner’s former achievements include being honorably discharged from the United States Army, serving with distinction in Operation Enduring Freedom and earned both the Army Achievement Medal and the Humanitarian Service Medal. Terry holds a Master of Philosophy in International Relations from Cambridge University and received his law degree with honors from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. Bruner was also recognized by EBONY Magazine as a leader under 40 to watch.
