FIRST ANNUAL “JANUARY Hope and Freedom Walk-a-thon”
HOUSTON, TX (November 26, 2012) – Lakewood Church is partnering with Force4Compassion, an organization dedicated to ending human trafficking. Lakewood Church and Force4Compassion are bringing together hundreds of participants from around the Harris County area in the January Walk-A-Thon to raise money that will provide shelter, psychological counseling, education, and work skills for victims of sex trafficking.
Human Trafficking is the second largest crime in terms of dollars transacted in the US. Modern-day slavery or Human Trafficking is a form of forced labor where traffickers earn money or profit from the sale, control, and exploitation of others – oftentimes children.
