Kubo’s owner Yoichi “Yogi” Ueno is proud to be part of the center’s tradition. The former oil man started the restaurant 11 years ago with the restaurant’s first chef and namesake, Hajimi Kubokowa. Their goal was to fill a local void and treat Houstonians to genuine Japanese fare. “It gives me great honor to show appreciation for our guests,” says Ueno. “Our menu at Kubo’s remains unmatched in Houston when it comes to fine Japanese cuisine.”
Kubo’s will provide its complimentary samples in front of the Village’s fountain near its location at 2414 University Blvd. 200 Houston TX, 77005 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. In addition to the noodle soup, Kubo’s will distribute discount coupons worth 20 percent off menu items for customers visiting the restaurant on Dec. 6, 2012. Alcoholic beverages are not included in the discount.
Praised by publications such as Houston Press as the city’s best sushi, and ZagatSurvey® as one of Houston’s top Japanese restaurants, Kubo’s carries a wide selection of sushi items, signature rolls, appetizers, and entrees. Succulent steak, pork, and chicken dishes are likewise on the menu. The restaurant furthermore provides the best in beer, wine, and sake at its full bar.
