Dynamo forward Calen Carr suffers torn ACL

HOUSTON, TX (Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012) – Houston Dynamo forward Calen Carr suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in the MLS Cup Final against the LA Galaxy on Saturday, it was announced today.

Carr will undergo several weeks of prehabilitation prior to having surgery to repair the knee. The surgery date is yet to be determined. A time table for Carr’s return to the field will be established after the surgery.

Carr, 30, scored the opening goal in Saturday’s MLS Cup Final after setting a career-high with four regular season goals. Carr also recorded two postseason assists after netting two in the regular season. The Berkeley, Calif. native set career-highs in starts (17) and minutes played (1,512) in the regular season.

The Houston Dynamo are a Major League Soccer club that has won two MLS Cup championships and four conference championships in its first seven seasons and qualified to represent the United States in international competition six times, including the 2013-14 CONCACAF Champions League.
