A section of Lee Road, located near George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), will be partially closed to northbound traffic on November 3, 2012.
Various sections of the northbound lane of Lee Road will be closed from Will Clayton Parkway to F.M. 1960 from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Northbound drivers will periodically be redirected to the center lane of Lee Road by officers with the Houston Police Department.
The lane closure is not expected to have a significant impact on drivers traveling along Will Clayton Parkway itself, which serves as one of two main thoroughfares for inbound and outbound traffic at IAH.
Southbound traffic along Lee Road will continue to operate as normal throughout the northbound lane closure. During the construction, crews will make various repairs at more than a dozen manhole stations located across the northbound section of Lee Road.
The repairs will allow future traffic to flow more efficiently and the overall driving experience will be more comfortable for drivers.
Lee Road serves as a major connector for vehicle traffic traveling along the eastern end of the IAH operation. It is an area where a large portion of the IAH air cargo is processed and transferred to trucks for distribution.
Drivers looking for a northbound alternative between Will Clayton Parkway and F.M. 1960 are encouraged to consider using Kenswick Drive.
