HOUSTON (June 2012) - The 9th annual Texas Black Expo will be held June 15 – 17, 2012 and is anticipated to reach 15 – 20,000 consumers at the George R. Brown Convention Center over the course of the three-day weekend. Sponsors for this event include Bud Light, Nationwide, H-E-B, and a recent addition, Miss Jessie’s, a premiere natural hair product company.
Founded by sisters Miko and Titi Branch, Miss Jessie’s Products took the curly hair market by storm in 2004. Armed with curly hair product development from their salon/workshop, they were able to perfect their curly hair product’s performance. Today, Miss Jessie’s curly hair products are well-known throughout the hair care industry and are considered the leader in curls, kinks and waves. They have been featured in numerous popular publications including O, The Oprah Magazine, Allure, Essence, Lucky, Marie Claire, WWD and Elle, in addition to appearing on NBC’s The Today Show and have such celebrity fans as Alicia Keys, Joss Stone, Halle Berry, Keri Hilson, Rhianna and Randy Jackson, to name a few.
“Participation in the Texas Black Expo will be a prime opportunity for Miss Jessie’s to introduce its innovative existing and new products designed for the naturally-curly hair segment to the Texas market. We are excited about the prospect of educating naturals on how to care for their natural hair and to show them why Miss Jessie’s is the logical, go-to product choice for people with curly, kinky, and wavy hair of all types and textures,” says Titi Branch, co-founder of Miss Jessie’s.
At the 2012 Texas Black Expo, Miss Jessie’s will be showcased in the Naturalista Symposium and in the I Am Beauty Pavilion on the tradeshow floor. Last year, these events alone drew more than 2,000 attendees, and many more rushed into the beauty pavilion for free samples, free hair styling, free makeovers and more!
Other highly-anticipated events taking place at the annual Summer Celebration will include an Old School Hip-Hop and R&B Concert featuring George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, ConFunkShun and Whodini presented by Silver Eagle Distributors and Bud Light, the Diva Dialogue Women’s Forum featuring The Game’s Wendy Raquel Robinson, a dynamic Gospel Explosion featuring Zacardi Cortez, and a Celebrity All-White Affair hosted by The Game’s Pooch Hall, in addition to other attractions highlighted at http://www.texasblackexpo.com/2012-expo-events.html.
