Tiger’s 4x400m Relay Team Heading to the NCAA Championship Meet

Austin, TX-The Texas Southern Tigers are still running! The TSU “Flying” Tigers 4×400 meter relay team earned a spot in the NCAA Division I Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.

Sophomore Jeffry Lacroix, junior Michael Holmes, senior Treven Dickerson and junior Arte’ Collings make up the SWAC Champion Texas Southern 4x400m relay team that is now heading to the championship meet.

The team grabbed the last qualifying spot in the NCAA West Regional held in Austin, Texas with a time of 3:08.45.

Justin Anderson competed in the West Regional in the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes. He qualified for the semi finals in both events. He just missed qualifying for the NCAA Championship meet in the 100m where he placed 13th with a time of with a 10.37. The top 12 finishers advance. He finished 22nd in the 200m with a time of 21.07.

Three TSU Tigers competed in the 400 meter dash at the regional meet…Collins, Lacroix and Holmes. Holmes had the best finish in the prelims with a 47.63.

The NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships will be June 6th-9th.
