WHAT: According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 10 percent of women (6.1 million) in the United States ages 15-44 have difficulty getting pregnant or staying pregnant. For some couples, creating a family can become a painful challenge. For a variety of reasons, infertility can become a barrier instead of a breakthrough to becoming a stronger unit. Rhonda Nwosu and her husband Ral of Houston had no support as they wandered through their delayed parenting journey.

After enduring her difficult path to motherhood, Rhonda recognized a need to support women of similar plight. She turned her dark pain into Sparkles of Life, a passionate organization which gives voice and support to women and families throughout Houston and surrounding areas who are battling infertility and miscarriages. One of the ways the Nwosu’s want to help infertile couples is to develop Sparkles of Life chapters across the country, to replicate a much-needed support portal for the thousands of women and couples suffering in silence.
