Houston Young Professionals Endeavor (HYPE) to Hold Its First “Love Your Block” Cleanup Project at BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions

Houston Young Professionals Endeavor (HYPE) will hold its first “Love Your Block” cleanup event at BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions on Saturday, April 28. HYPE volunteers will pick up litter, mow grass, pull weeds and dispose of debris on Carr Street near the entrance of the BARC shelter.

This event, organized by the young professionals of HYPE, represents one of the many initiatives that Houstonians participate in and support to continue improving BARC. With increasing community involvement from Houstonians and groups like HYPE, BARC is on the fast track to reaching its goal of becoming the best municipal animal shelter in the United States.

Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions: 3200 Carr Street, Houston TX 77026

This initiative helps improve the appearance of the land surrounding the entrance of the shelter. HYPE hopes the improved appearance of properties leading to BARC’s entrance results in additional traffic into BARC and increased pet adoptions.

The simplest, but most powerful thing you can do to help the BARC Houston shelter, and pets throughout our community, is to talk to your friends, neighbors, and family about caring for pets responsibly, and spaying and neutering all animals.
