HOUSTON (April, 2012) – The 9th annual Texas Black Expo (June 15 – 17, 2012) will soon return to the George R. Brown Convention Center for a three-day celebration featuring entertainment, cultural education, shopping, and fun. The TBE Summer Celebration is the largest African American cultural marketing tradeshow in the state of Texas and will serve an anticipated 20,000 regional attendees over the course of the weekend. As part of the celebrity line-up for this year’s event, Wendy Raquel Robinson of BET’s hit series, The Game, will be a featured guest in the Diva Dialogue Women’s Forum on Saturday, June 16th.
The Diva Dialogue Women’s Forum is a popular annual Expo attraction that allows a panel of leading women to discuss issues relevant to women of color. Featuring female celebrities, Diva Dialogue has included publishing icon Susan L. Taylor and celebrity actress Elise Neal in past events. By popular demand, this year’s panel will feature Hollywood sensation Wendy Raquel Robinson, who is best known for role as the feisty Tasha Mack in BET’s smash hit series, The Game. Robinson has also starred in The Steve Harvey Show and Cedric the Entertainer Presents, and she has been nominated for six NAACP Image Awards.
Diva Dialogue is an annual women’s forum held at the Texas Black Expo Summer Celebration that addresses issues designed to educate, inform and empower women of color. In honor of the celebration of liberty surrounding Juneteenth weekend, this year’s Diva Dialogue theme is “Free to Be Me: Love, Laugh & Live!” Other notables will also be featured on this panel, including Bern Nadette Stanis who starred in the 70′s comedy series Good Times, as well as other Houston-area women leaders. Celebrity panelists will be present to sign autographs immediately following the Diva Dialogue forum for audience members. In addition to serving as featured panelists for Diva Dialogue, celebrity guests will be present at parties and receptions hosted in the Texas Black Expo’s honor.
Diva Dialogue will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, June 16th. Audience seats for Diva Dialogue are included with Expo admission.
