HOUSTON (April, 2012) – The 9th annual Texas Black Expo (June 15 – 17, 2012) is just around the corner, and Expo fans from across the Texas/Louisiana region are preparing to converge upon Houston for the largest urban festival in Texas! Hundreds of businesses are scrambling to secure their spots as sponsors and exhibitors for an opportunity to reach more than 20,000 consumers at the George R. Brown Convention Center for this annual event. 2012 attendees will see a number of new sponsoring partners, including Bud Light, the Texas Legislative Black Caucus, and the Expo’s latest addition, CURLS Natural Hair Care Company.
CURLS is a premium, ethnic hair care company whose purpose is to deliver quality products that cater to the unique needs of today’s multi-cultural market. CURLS’s signature products (CURLS, Curly Q’s and It’s A Curl) contain an exclusive blend of certified organic ingredients, natural oils and exotic extracts. CURLS, marking their tenth anniversary, proudly announce the release of their newest CURLS product, Cashmere Curl Jelly, specifically designed for type-4 kinky-textured curlies. Formulated with certified organic cashmere extract, Cashmere Curl Jelly elongates tightly-coiled hair and repairs damaged tresses, leaving them bouncy, shiny and silky-smooth.
Mahisha Dellinger, CURLS Hair Care founder, recently celebrated a decade of curl power with a star-studded blow out bash at The Rolling Stone Lounge in Hollywood, during which she announced the acquisition of the KYNX Hair Care collection, expanding the CURLS brand to include type-four hair, and bringing this dynamic product, KYNX, into the CURLS family.
“We are looking to expand our market share in the state of Texas, so it was a no-brainer to partner with the Texas Black Expo, as it draws thousands of potential consumers to their annual event. In addition, they have a passion for supporting urban communities, which aligns with our goals as well,” says Dellinger.
At the 2012 Texas Black Expo, CURLS signature products will be showcased at the Glam Slam Hair Show and in the I Am Beauty Pavilion on the tradeshow floor. Last year, the hair show alone drew more than 2,000 attendees, and thousands more rushed into the beauty pavilion for free samples, free hair styling, free makeovers and more!
Other highly-anticipated events taking place at the annual Summer Celebration will include an Old School Hip-Hop and R&B Concert featuring George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, ConFunkShun and Whodini presented by Silver Eagle Distributors and Bud Light, the Diva Dialogue Women’s Forum, a dynamic Gospel Explosion featuring Zacardi Cortez, and a Celebrity All-White Affair, in addition to other attractions highlighted at http://www.texasblackexpo.com/2012-expo-events.html.
Additional sponsors include: Lilly, HEB, Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, Nationwide Insurance, and Comcast among others.
Tickets for the Juneteenth Summer Celebration will be available online beginning May 21, 2012.
