HOUSTON – December 2011 – St. Joseph Medical Center, “Houston’s First,” will commemorate its 125th anniversary in 2012 and to celebrate, Houston’s first hospital wants to reconnect with generations of babies born at its facility.

The hospital is getting a jump on the anniversary celebration by soliciting sign ups and offering weekly drawings for raffle prizes during the St. Joseph Medical Center ICE at Discovery Green presented by Houston Chronicle and Momentum Luxury Auto Group.

There are several easy ways to join the celebration:

· On-site. Visit The ICE at Discovery Green on Wednesday evenings and look for staff stationed with laptops to assist with online registration.
· Online. Visit and sign up.

Registration is open to any person who was born at St. Joseph Medical Center including parents or children of registrants. On-site and online entries will be entered into a weekly raffle on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at Discovery Green. Prizes include $100 gift cards, with the grand prize being a night at the Embassy Suites-Houston Hotel. You do not have to be present at the raffle drawings to be eligible to win.

The St. Joseph Medical Center ICE at Discovery Green will be open daily November 24 through January 22. Admission is $10 plus tax, which includes a skate rental. Visit

· More than 300,000 babies were born at the hospital over 125 years.

· The first baby born at the hospital was Josephine Kelley.

Discovery Green
