The spring season at Discovery Green is packed with returning series and events, such as weekly exercise classes, Screen on the Green, Thursday Concert Series, Shell Eco-marathon, DockDogs and Disco Green Electronic Music Fest, as well as new events which include the NCAA Final Four Big Dance and the Da Camera Jazz JAM Series. Discovery Green is a 12-acre park created by a public-private partnership between the City of Houston and the non-profit Discovery Green Conservancy. Since the park opened in April 2008, it has welcomed more than 2 million visitors and hosted more than 800 public and private events. The Discovery Green Conservancy works with hundreds of programming partners to present three dynamic programming seasons each year most of which are FREE and open to the public. As a non-profit organization, the Conservancy raises all the funds needed for the programming that Houstonians enjoy. Help to ensure that Discovery Green remains an accessible and incomparable public gathering space by becoming a member of the Green Team.
Discovery Green is located at 1500 McKinney in downtown Houston, in front of the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Hilton Americas. The park is just blocks away from Main Street, Minute Maid Park and the Toyota Center.
Discovery Green is open every day from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Hours for events may vary. Areas of the park may be closed occasionally for maintenance or private events.
