Lily Tomlin: Thirteen years after her original Women’s Center performance, Lily Tomlin has grown her awards repertoire to include a Grammy, two Tony’s, two Peabody’s, six Emmys and the Mark Twain Prize for American humor. In a career spanning over 40 years, she brings a lifetime of insight and countless characters to our intimate stage. From her run on the 1970’s hit Laugh-In, there are the snarky telephone operator, Ernestine, and the precocious kindergartner, Edith Ann. Over the years, Tomlin has added many more personages who now travel with her, including Sister Boogie Woman, a 77 year old blues singer and Crystal, a hang-gliding quadriplegic.
The Houston Area Women’s Center:

We provide shelter, counseling and advocacy to support them in building lives free from the effects of violence. We seek social change to end domestic and sexual violence through community awareness and education.
