ICNA Relief – Providing Food & Shelter from Cold

Now Islamic Circle of North America Relief (ICNA Relief) Providing Food & Shelter at One Location in Light of the Extended Winter Weather Advisory

In response to the Winter Storm Emergency in the Greater Houston Region, ICNA Relief USA is standing-by and prepared to support the efforts of the Texas Gulf Coast Regional VOAD (Volunteer Agencies Assisting in Disasters).

As a member agency of the Texas Gulf Coast Regional VOAD, ICNA Relief USA is ready to assist by providing 100 hot meals and volunteers to support the efforts of the American Red Cross of Greater Houston, who is responsible to open shelters in the Houston area.

ICNA Relief USA is also opening their Transitional Shelter for Women to accommodate women and children who need shelter from the storm. Fourteen beds are available and warm food will be provided. This shelter is also available as an overflow shelter to the American Red Cross, for women and children. As a member agency of the Texas Gulf Coast Regional VOAD, ICNA Relief USA staff stands ready to support all efforts of the Harris County Emergency Operations Center (EOC), as called upon.

If additional staff is needed to support the TGCVOAD and EOC operations, ICNA Relief USA stands ready to send in knowledgeable staff.
