Attorney Roland Garcia today announced his endorsement of Annise Parker in her run-off election for Houston Mayor.
Garcia will join the campaign as a senior member of the campaign team.
“I am excited to be a part of Annise Parker’s team,” said Garcia. “Annise Parker is the most qualified candidate to be Mayor, and has more experience in city government than all of her opponents combined. I am committed to raising the funds necessary for a successful run-off election.”
“Roland is a wonderful asset to our team,” declared Parker. “He will be invaluable as we continue our campaign for safer neighborhoods, more jobs, improved drainage and a better quality of life.”
In order to endorse and raise funds for Parker, Garcia today resigned his position as a member of the Board of Directors of the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority. City ordinance prohibits a member of the Sports Authority Board raising funds for a candidate.
“I have enjoyed my service on the Sports Authority Board,” said Garcia. “However, electing Annise Mayor is so important, I felt I had to do this.”
